Financial Stuff

We have $5,200 in our ING account.

ING will charge us a 2.2% foreign transaction fee.

Chase will charge us a 3% foreign transaction fee and $5 to use the ATM.

AmEx will charge us 2.7% after conversion.

They recommend we search for vendors that do business in USD to avoid foreign transaction fees.

So far, we've paid for our plane tickets and half our rental in Prague.

For lodging, we will owe about $350 in Budapest. $280 for the rental in Vienna. $280 more for the rental in Prague. $75 for the rental in Cesky Krumlov.

Did we ever book Hotel Julian in Prague for our last two nights? I don't think I did it. Hopefully you did.

We also have $280 for our train passes. So that's almost $1,300 right there. Hopefully we don't spend $4k on other stuff!

Hungary works on the Hungarian Forint (HUF). 1 HUF is essentially one-half on one cent. So $1 is $200 HUF (approximately).

Austria and Slovakia are on the Euro. 1 Euro is approximately $1.30.

Czech Republic is on the Czech Koruna (CZK). 1 CZK is approximately 0.05 cents. Or, $1 is 20 CZK.
