$240 for the 3 nights. I guess the Cotton House is cheaper and has breakfast and a workout room.
I'm ok with hotel in Budapest. Apartment in Vienna for laundry, since that will be about half way, and we might be there 4 days if we're doing Bratislava too?
I'm good with hotel in Budapest and Prague with vrbo in Vienna.
Here are my Prague hotel suggestions (4 nights: 5/27-5/31 including breakfast and fitness center): Hotel Julian - 572 USD Andel's - 719 USD Park Inn - 647 USD Eurostars David - 562 USD Hotel Seven Days - 549 USD
I will get to Prague in a bit. Somebody didn't provide any links.
Looks like the Cotton Club is about a mile away from downtown Budapest. Not that that's a big deal. We can walk that.
People say the breakfast is good and goes until 11 AM.
There isn't really a workout room, looks like they have a treadmill, which doesn't do much for me. If I wanted to jog, I'd go outside, but that's fine. I don't need to pick a hotel based on a fitness center. I'll figure something out if I get a hankerin for a workout.
There are some odd mixed reviews on Cotton Club. I can tell you this, it is unique. Some people love it. Some people hate it.
I want to say we'll love the quirkiness, but then again, sometimes we get annoyed by common folk. Apparently there is an bar/poker club in the basement that can get loud and smokey. In theory, this shouldn't affect the rooms, but some people says it does.
The only other decent hotel/price I can find is this:
City Hotel Ring has decent reviews. Small rooms, mediocre breakfast, wifi only in select rooms, no fitness center. And it's like $25/day for breakfast for the two of us.
On the plus side, it's nice and clean (just small), cheap, and centrally located.
We could get something like this for $240.

I feel if we're going to go the hotel route, we should get a good breakfast, fitness center, and possibly a nice restaurant/bar. Otherwise, what's the point in the hotel? At least that's my opinion.
Breakfast included. No fitness center. Wifi in every room. No AC at this rate. Located on the Buda side of the river, so a little farther away from the main attractions.
But we're looking at $380 for the 3 nights, and there may be 17% tax on top of that (had to tell from the website). And only LAN in the hotel room, not wifi. Doesn't work for our phones or your iPad.
But breakfast is included and it has a fitness center.
I like Cotton House.

The Piano bar looks fun.

Sorry about that. I was more worried with the cost.

So, what do you think?
The Art'otel is a little more expensive.

What about one of the original ones you had? City Hotel Ring?

This place is fairly nice and in a good location.

Maybe this wasn't such a good option.
I don't think I'm going to find anything else good in Budapest, probably need to pick one of the places we have listed above.
ReplyDeleteI think the Novotel Centrum or the Radisson Blu are our best bets for Budapest.
